As summer comes to an end...

You know summer is coming to an end when the days start getting shorter. It starts getting dark by 8pm nowadays whereas during peak summer season the sunsets barely just began at 8pm.

It's my second summer of post-grad and I've realized that summer is indeed my favorite season by far. Despite how hot most of the days are, summer feels so lively and joyful and full of contentment. Everyone and everything is flourishing and thriving. Everything just feels right during the summer. Summer makes me feel happy to be alive and grateful for the little things in everyday life-- getting to spend the days with my family, walking my dog, cooking with my mom, baking with my dad/friends, hiking, farmers markets, and so much more.

So as summer comes to a close later this month, a highlights from my favorite summer by far:

  1. discovering new hobbies - learning to crochet and exploring how to make zines of my own
  2. tapping back into my sketching practice - although a chaotic practice, I'm aiming for consistency
  3. visiting old and new friends in san francisco
  4. visiting the oregon coast for the first time with a friend
  5. fresh food from the farmers market- and finally able to go to one with my mom!
This list includes only some of the highlights and doesn't fully capture  the in-between moments, but that's okay because i've recorded them in my journal. Here's to better and brighter days!

Some other memorable moments from the summer include:
  1. crying in public at a restaurant while in nyc (feeling unfulfilled with my life)-- not fun at the time, but in retrospect, actually kinda funny bc i never imagined myself crying in public while eating
  2. canada fires turning the skies in nyc orange (awful, terrifying-- really taught me that i should always expect the unexpected and won't always be able to prepare for all occasions)
  3. the one time me and friend got a beautiful pizza and people around us started wanting to take pictures of it (srsly people just order the pizza lol)
(OKAY THAT IS MY SUMMER WRAP UP  FOR NOW-- byeeee (pictures below hehe)
